Meteorologist Nick Kosir, better known as The Rapping Weatherman, has gained national attention for his accurate and entertaining forecasts.
Kosir first rapped the weather in July of 2009. His effort to spice up the monotonous Southeast Texas forecast turned him into an overnight YouTube sensation. By the time Kosir had rapped his fourth forecast, he was getting national attention from celebrities Ellen Degeneres and Ryan Seacrest. His raps have also made it to the homepage of AOL.com, Bing.com, MSN.com and others. Aside from making waves in the social media world, Kosir has been featured on TV shows across the nation, such as: FOX's The O'Reilly Factor, MSNBC's The Dylan Ratigan Show and Inside Edition. Kosir has also racked up six Press Club awards including best weather presentation and best light feature. He is an alumni of Mississippi State University where he earned his broadcast meteorology degree. Kosir currently resides in Twin Falls, Idaho, where he hosts a morning and noon newscast with his wife. The two work for CBS and FOX affiliate KMVT/KTWT. Prior to moving to the northwest, Kosir worked as a morning meteorologist at FOX affiliate KBTV in Beaumont, Texas and as the Weather Director at WMFD in Mansfield, Ohio. Comments ( Most Viewed |
