Self-defense for women
Success Martial Arts Senior Instructor Brian Higgins came by the studio today to educate women about self-defense.
Higgins has partnered with the YMCA to teach a class called, "In The Zone." The class will teach mothers and daughters how to avoid and prevent confrontation; effective conflict de-escalation approaches; and when all else fails, how to defend themselves against an all out assualt. Higgins says 32% of all rape victims are 11-17 years of age. He says the average victim of abduction and murder is an 11 year old girl describedas a "low risk, normal kid."
