DIETRICH, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Sixth grade students are hard at work utilizing the new technology in the Dietrich School District.

James Dillworth, a sixth grader says, "it just seems to be easier than awhile ago. The technology pops up easily and makes it all instant."

Sixth Grader Quincie Christiansen says, "we got a new TV in there which we do our school work on and it's really nice."

Fundraisers, an INL grant and money from the school district helped to pay for the curriculum.

Diane Norman, a sixth grade teacher states, "I can present the objective and standards, use power point and educational videos."

Upstairs the students practice the skills they learned from the lesson in the computer lab.

"They're so savvy when it comes to the technology. I learn from them every day. They jump in, log on, I don't have to give them much instruction, just guide them to the right sites," adds Norman.

For James, the new technology will benefit him in his career plans.

"I kind of want to be marine biologist, go underwater, study underwater animals."

And for Mrs. Norman, she used to work in a computer lab filled with computers, now it's one big screen.

But with tech–savvy students, "they participate and are going to be well–prepared."
