MINICO HIGH SCHOOL (KMVT-TV) Just prior to the start of Winter vacation, this is the scene in one of the classrooms at Minico High School.

The students spent the majority of December working on the 'Gift of Green' campaign.

Stetzon Blecker, a junior says, "we've made it a class competition. We have a folder and collect money, pennies, dimes and dollars."

While many of us are focused on scoring the best deals and wondering what our loved ones will buy us for Christmas, not everyone is as fortunate. That's why students at Minico have stepped up to help.

Toni Lopez, President of Spanish Club says, "we go out into the Hispanic communities and divide the kids for gifts and sometimes we get gift cards for the families."

"I think it's really cool we can get past ourselves and help each other."

Brittany: "As the economy took a turn for the worse, how have you seen the program really excel and help the community?"

Garett Christensen, a senior says, "it's helped a lot of people in my four years, even kids around here, helped their attitudes."
