Fit And Well Idaho: Festival Of Trees

By Brittany Cooper

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) In this week's Fit and Well Idaho, we're previewing one of the most popular events of the holidays.

It's also for a very important cause.

"This is incredible to think we're downtown at the Historic Ballroom, so tradition and history come together to bring to the community the opening of the Christmas season. We enjoy every single day, and they're all different. We have entertainment every day; there is food for those people who are being caught there at lunch and dinner and for the little ones who are just hungry. So we have something for everyone," explains Terry Rowe, event coordinator at St. Luke’s Magic Valley.

Funding from this years' Festival of Trees will benefit the Children's and Adolescent Behavioral Health Program at St. Luke's.

“We know that we are a large rural state... where this is a significant lack of resources and fragmentation of resources...The funding for this project is really going to the development and education outreach project specifically targeting those parents and families to really educating them about children's behavioral health issues, really help guide them where they can find help,” says Dr. Samuel Pullen, child and adolescent psychiatrist.

The Festival of Trees begins with the Opening Night Gala starting Thursday, December 5th.

The event runs for four days at The Historic Ballroom in downtown Twin Falls.
