Fit And Well Idaho: Jerome Health Fair

Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) The Jerome Health Fair returns this weekend.

St. Luke's is advocating its patient portal, where the community can register and have firsthand access to their medical records... all with a click of the mouse.

While the recreation district is showcasing fitness opportunities.

"We are really encouraging people to participate in your healthcare, the patient portal, because it's a perfect avenue for them to access these lab results that they're going to have done at the health fair, and after a couple of days, actually by Monday, they're going to have lab results available to them in the patient portal, where before it would take two weeks to get those same lab results to them," explains Troy Ruhter, lab manager, St. Luke’s Jerome.

The fair will feature free classes, including cross fit and the aerobic craze, zumba.

"We're hoping that more people will come out and take advantage of the health fair, the services that we're providing, while also seeing the benefits of the Jerome Recreation District and how that can factor into their health," says Gary Warr, executive director, Jerome Recreation District.

Another benefit... tests are deeply discounted; the most expensive lab will cost 15 dollars.

"So we're just hoping that people will come out and support this because this is a free service to the public, as far as health care goes, and they can get reduced rate testing and various things through St. Luke's. It's a great opportunity for the community to invest in their health," Warr points out.

The health fair runs from seven a.m. to noon on Saturday at the Jerome Recreation District.
