Authorities say the pilot of a single-engine crop dusting plane has died after crashing near Glenns Ferry.

Elmore county sheriff officials have identified the victim as 21-year-old James Howard Nau, of Caldwell.

Witnesses say the plane went down around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday in a farm field about seven miles south of Glenns Ferry.

Sgt. Bob Peace says investigators are still trying to determine what went wrong.

He says the pilot appears to have crashed shortly after finishing dusting one field and was returning to get a fresh load.
