Corn dogs, elephant ears, and funnel cake... these are all tasty treats that fairgoers love and enjoy.
Even though these foods may be bad for the body... It's something everyone looks forward to at the twin falls county fair.
Fairgoes Laura Swezy said about fair food, "I just like the food it's really good and sweet and some can be sour but overall it's really good."
To promote food booths at the fair, manager John Pitz says they have been trying something for the past three years where they are offering something special.
Pitz says, "Its geared to be a lunch promotion so people can come and eat at the fair without having to pay for fair admission.
But how exactly does it work?
"You pay your regular admission and you get a plastic token instead of a hand stamp and if you leave before two you return your token at gate 1 or 5 and get your money back."
With offers like this it keeps local vendors happy. In fact Duane Ash with Party Pups says people come to his stand to enjoy corn dogs. He is not sure if the promotion will help but he says it couldn't hurt.
Ash says, "A lot of people will say they are coming to the fair so it's likely it may have an impact on our business this year."
Pitz says with the economy the way it is people are looking for anyway to save cash. This gives them the chance to see a little bit of the fair for free... even if it’s only for a couple hours.
