A change in the weather

For many of us, the snowfall today was quite the change from what we've been seeing lately. Or those up in the mountains they enjoy snow any time of year.

Last week we enjoyed temperatures in the seventies and eighties and sunny skies - this week is a totally different story.

While some may stay away from the snow - others embrace it - especially the communities of Ketchum and Hailey.

Jerry Elder, Formula Sports salesman, says, "If it's dry and clear in the forecast, people get a little depressed and right now with the new snow they're looking forward to the winter."

The national weather service predicts about two to five inches in the valleys and with several inches for the mountains.

The winter storm watch for the mountains was lifted.

But the early snow is great for those who work in ski and snowboarding shops, especially since this time is typically known as the 'slack season'.

Manager and Certified Board Pedorthist Jeremy Hickey says, "I woke up this morning and I peaked out the window and it's probably the first time in weeks I've gotten up early just to be out in the snow."

For residents living up in the mountains and dealing with snow is part of their lifestyle.
