Idaho has among the highest rates of new melanoma diagnoses and deaths in the U.S. Melanoma is sometimes fatal form of skin cancer.

Idaho is one of ten states being targeted by the federal government as part of an education campaign to get people to use sunscreen, wear clothing that protects skin from harmful u.v. rays, and to stay out of the sun when it's rays are most intense.

Health officials say half of Caucasian adults reported, at least, one sunburn in the past year. With each sunburn during your lifetime, the risk for developing skin cancer increases.
