The Twin Falls Animal Shelter needs your help. Cats of all shapes and sizes are in need of good homes.
At the Twin Falls Animal Shelter, staff are dealing with more cats than they can handle. Animal Shelter Director Debra Blackwood said the economy is a major reason for the overload.
“A lot of people in this economy are getting rid of their cats, because they are forced to move, forced to tighten their budgets, cats aren't always allowed, so a lot of it is moving.”
So the quick fix: seniors can adopt a new friend for free, and all other adoptions are half price. Blackwood is urging people to work hard at keeping cats, because there is just no room for them at the shelter.
She also encourages people make a commitment to spay and neuter their animals. This will keep more kitties from staying behind bars.
It doesn't take much to welcome a new companion into your home.
Blackwood said, “The qualification is you have lots of time, money, you know, just because of costs, to take care of animals, and a place in your heart for a new one. We'd love to see you.
Even if you can't afford to keep a kitty in your home, you can still donate to the shelter to help out.
The animal shelter is open 10:00–2:30 p.m Monday through Friday, and 10:00–2:00 p.m on Saturdays.
