A free clinic to provide dental sealants and fluoride treatments for elementary school children is coming up in about three weeks.

Plastic sealants are a simple and effective way to prevent tooth decay in molar teeth. The sealants are painted on children's teeth to cover up the pits and fissures on the chewing surfaces of the teeth. Without this treatment, 75 percent of lower first permanent molars decay by age 13.

The free clinic will be held for children in second through sixth grades, on Saturday, November 14th from 9 am to 1 pm.

It will be in room 182 of the Aspen Building at the College of Southern Idaho, and patients without dental insurance will be taken first.
