Jerome County Planning and Zoning Administrator Art Brown recently attended a meeting organized by the Idaho Department of Agriculture. Tuesday, he briefed the county commissioners on the results of that meeting.

Brown says two scientists made presentations on 'controlling pathogen drift.' they wanted to take samples at large cattle operations, and analyze them for pathogens.

The scientists are looking for money to pay for the research.

Brown says of all the pathogen studies conducted; only one study in Europe has been peer reviewed which is required for a study to be considered scientifically acceptable.

The department of agriculture will meet again in January, to continue the ongoing discussion.
