Members of the Catholic Church, and other religions, marked the first day of Lent today, or what's also known as 'Ash Wednesday'.
Students and teachers at Saint Edwards Catholic School in Twin Falls, along with other church goers, participated in a special mass this morning.
A priest took ashes and marked a small cross on the foreheads of all the attendees. The ashes came from burnt palm leaves from the previous year's 'Palm Sunday' celebration.
'Ash Wednesday' marks the start of the 40–days of Lent leading up to Easter.
