Over 70 projects at local elementary school science fair

Sawtooth Elementary School is hosting it's annual school science fair. Parent volunteer Tina Brandt says more than a hundred students worked on almost 70 different projects, some of them in pairs.

This year's projects included 'Does your birthday determine which seasons you like,' and 'What are a squirrel's favorite foods?'

Brandt says even though about 100 sixth graders moved to the middle school, there are still more participants this year than there were last year.

She says students learn to use 'the scientific method' of problem solving, and discover that they can use science in their everyday lives.
