Armed Robbery at Burley Walmart

BURLEY, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Minidoka County Sheriff Kevin Halverson says Robert Lambert, 46, tried to rob the Walmart around 9:30, Wednesday night.

Sheriff Halverson says shoppers subdued the man, but Lambert had a knife in his possession.

One of the patrons went to the hospital with non–life threatening injuries. Another was treated and released at the scene.

Deputies arrested Lambert.

Meanwhile, there's another suspect in connection with the robbery. Authorities arrested 37–year old Tommy Nash in Gooding County.

We spoke with local residents after hearing about the incident.

Gracy Winmill, Burley resident says, "sad. Hopefully the people were ok in the store."

Troy Winmill says, "after hearing that, it's really sad. Here we are thanksgiving, everybody is happy and to hear news like that is very sad."

"What could they take from walmart? Did they go to one register at a time or what?" says Curtis Timmons.

Lambert faces armed robbery and aggravated battery charges. He's being held in the Mini–Cassia Criminal Justice Center.

Nash is in the Twin Falls County Jail on charges related to the robbery.

Both men are from Colorado.
