Jerome Man Sentenced on Vehicular Manslaughter

Gooding, Idaho (KMVT)-Its community service for man sentenced on vehicular manslaughter. 58 year old Mitchell Barnes of Jerome pleaded guilty to the charge.
He failed to stop at a stop sign in Gooding County last September and hit another vehicle killing 9 year Brady Hanson and critically injured his mother Amy Hanson.
The boys family was visibly upset after judge Casey Robinson issued the sentence.
Barnes will serve 200 hours community service. A year jail sentence was suspended.
His license is suspended, but he is allowed to drive to work and his community service.
He will have restitution which will be worked out later. Barnes was insured at the time of the crash.
Mrs. Hanson’s medical bills are escalating past half a million dollars.
