McDonald's Hiring 50,000 People On Tuesday

TWIN FALLS, ID (KMVT-TV) - 50,000 people that's how many people the fast food chain, McDonald's is planning to hire on Tuesday as a part of "National Hiring Day."

Locally, it means there are numerous jobs up for grabs.

The golden arches are serving up a golden opportunity.

On Tuesday, the company is hosting "National Hiring Day."

For Southcentral Idaho.. McDonald's owner, Bill Kyle, is planning to hire employees for 50 jobs.

"We've got positions full time and part time, management, regular crew positions,” said Bill Kyle, Owner of 9 McDonald’s.

The hiring day began last year in the western division.

More than 60,000 people applied for 13,000 positions.

It was so popular that this year, it's going nationwide.
"There's been so much talk about a poor economy. But, McDonald's is doing well,” said Kyle.

And that's no joke.

Last year, McDonald's sales grew by close to four percent.

This ambitious campaign is expected to generate $3.5 million a day in consumer spending nationwide.

The restaurant is known as one of America's favorite fast food restaurant that's why employees who work here consider it not only a job, but a career opportunity.

"For many it is a career like me or for high schoolers, it's a stepping stone,” said Connie Miller, Assistant Manager, McDonald’s.

Miller started as a crew person, working her way up, she said it’s a job you can truly enjoy.

"The customers, getting to know them on a first name basis. Making a family here at McDonald's,” Said Miller.

And building a family is what Bill Kyle strives for, especially since the business is a family one.

On Tuesday, it's a chance for others get a "McJob."
