Buhl, ID (KMVT TV) - During the winter, there's nothing like enjoying a vacation close to home.

It seems this year; more people are doing "stay–cations."

One popular spot is Miracle Hot Springs just northwest of Buhl.

Despite a rather warm January day, the pools at miracle hot springs are filled.

Thousands of people soak in the hot pools every year.

The water is all natural and warm.

The smaller outside pool hits 105 to 110 degrees, while the larger one usually remains at 98 degrees.

Hot temperatures to warm you up during the coldest time of the year, but during the winter, how popular are the hot pools?

"The season's been going really well this year. We've had lots of people come down and enjoy the hot water, especially with the good weather we've been having this month. Over the last several years, we've been steadily increasing month by month and we're right about the same as we were last year with a little bit of an increase,” said Enoch Olsen, Miracle Hot Springs.

Not only is there a big pool for everyone, there's also 19 private pools for your family to enjoy some quiet time alone.

"It's great. It's cool and nice and warm,” said Jonathan Muretisch, Twin Falls.

"I think just being in Idaho where people are crazy in January to go swimming and it's nice and warm,” said Telcin Muretisch, Twin Falls.

"In the winter time, this is a great escape. It's close,” said Kim Anderson, Hailey.

As for the hot pools..

"We are going to expand in the future. This year, we're going to add more private pools and outdoor pools,” said Olsen.

Business is good.
Miracle Hot Springs is open all year.

Monday through Saturday from 8 am until 11 pm.
