"On October 31st the Orpheum theatre will be 90 years old."
For nearly a century the Orpheum has provided entertainment to many a crowd in Twin Falls.
On October 31st the Orpheum celebrates 90 years as a theatre.
"Originally it was a vaudeville stage and they had live acts on stage and then movies came on stage."
Larry Roper is the managing director for Interstate Amusement, who owns the Orpheum.
They bought it years ago and have tried to keep it all original.
"Most of the inside of the auditorium area are the original they way it was."
Even behind the stage the original curtains, backdrops and rope system to lower them are in place. Roper says they have no plans on ever closing the Orpheum down.
"that is heritage, when you consider that, that building opened 90 years ago and has showed entertainment everyday for 90 years, and it has been no other business, what other business in town can says that."
To celebrate the birthday, the Orpheum will show Phantom of the Opera. Show time is at 7:30pm Oct 29. Tickets are $25 and $100 for VIP. All proceeds will go to the Boys and Girls Club of the Magic Valley.
