Sentencing hearing vacated for Markus May

By KMVT News

Markus May, 24, is accused of shooting James Lambert of Buhl in the leg and then leading law enforcement authorities on a high speed chase along Highway 30.

A Filer Police Officer ended up shooting May in the head, but not seriously injuring him.

Despite May changing his plea to guilty earlier in the year, this morning's sentencing hearing was vacated. Court records show May now wants to withdraw his guilty plea.

A hearing to sort out the matter is scheduled for Monday afternoon before Fifth District Judge Richard Bevan.
