TF Shelter Full of Runaway Pets

Twin Falls

By Benito Baeza

The Twin Falls Animal Shelter is busy. Just during the weekend they've taken dog after dog.
Animal shelter director Debbie Blackwood says its all because of the noise made by fireworks.
She says the shelter had already been at capacity before the holiday. Now they are overflowing. About two dozen dogs had come in the 4th of July weekend. "We have every nook and cranny, plus some outdoor pens occupied with new animals, so our old animals can’t get out to play."
Blackwood says if anyone is missing a pet they should check with the animal shelter their number is 736-2299.
More than likely the pet is there. She reminds pet owners it’s easier to get the animals back to them if they have an ID tag on them with contact information.
