It’s going to be awhile long before more information is made public about the arrest and charges against a former Twin Falls City Police detective.
A preliminary hearing scheduled for 44–year old Curtis Gambrel has been pushed back to July 17th.
Gambrel is charged with 5 counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud.
The 22–year police veteran is accused of obtaining numerous fraudulent prescriptions for the drugs 'hydrocodone' and 'oxycodone' from Jan Sund — a local nurse practitioner from January 2005 to April 2007.
Sund has pleaded guilty to 2 counts of conspiracy to commit prescription fraud – and 2 counts of prescription fraud – however she has yet to be sentenced.
It’s uncertain if Sund will act as a witness in the case against gambrel.
