Trial Moves For Hadden

Shoshone

By Benito Baeza

Traci Hadden's jury trial will move out of Lincoln County but not out of the 5th Judicial District.

Judge John Bulter, said "Out of fairness to the defendant that the court should grant the motion to change venue the court will grant motion to change venue."

Hadden's lawyer Keith Roark argued pre–trial publicity was part of the reason her case should be moved away from Shoshone, but that wasn't his main concern, what he was more concerned about was the community itself.

Traci’s Attorney Keith Roark said "What is more concern to me however is something very, very difficult to discern and that is the personal contact the alleged victim in this case is as prominent a citizen of the county as one could imagine."

That’s alleged victim being Craig Hadden; Roark did not ask for a drastic move away from the county, and didn't ask that it be moved out of the district.

Attorney Roark said "Entirely satisfied to have the matter moved to the east end of this particular district as a matter of fact I think either Minidoka or cassia county."

Judge Butler said the case could be moved to Jerome or possibly Minidoka County, if the schedule permitted. For now though all court proceedings would take place in Lincoln County.
