At the Twin Falls Cemetery, many families were out placing and arranging flowers around their loved one's sites.
Memorial Day was originally called Decoration Day.
It was officially proclaimed Memorial Day on May 5th, 1868 by general John Logan.
It was first observed on May 30th 1868, when flowers were placed on the graves of union and confederate soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery.
