"It happened so fast, she walked in, she went to the dance floor, he took off at her, but I thought personally that a speaker fell down because of the noise."
Law Enforcement officers responded to Belinda’s El Paralito Saloon located at 165 west highway 30 in Cassia County for a report of shots fired.
They found a 32–year old woman with a single gun shot wound to her upper torso.
Law enforcement says she was transported to Cassia Regional Medical center where she later died.
Bar owner, Belinda Colunga says that the victim was a regular customer.
"She was a good girl, good customer, liked to dance a lot, very friendly."
40–year old Paul resident Juan Manuel Arellano was taken into custody in connection with the shooting.
He’s being charged with first degree murder.
Belinda says "My security did everything in his power not to let him go because I think he was trying to shoot her and take off. He hold him until the police got here."
The victim's name is not being released at this time.
In moving forward from Saturday night's incident, Belinda hopes it doesn't negatively impact her business in which she uses to support her and her family back in Shoshone.
"It's hard because it affects you as a business owner you know, and I just pray that people will not stop coming."
The Cassia County and Minidoka county sheriff's office, Rupert Police and Heyburn Police Departments all responded to the scene.
The shooting is still under investigation.
