Magic Valley Guardsment Ship Out
After weeks of training in the Idaho desert, Idaho National Guardsmen from the Magic Valley were ready to head out to Gowen Field in Boise were the first wave of soldiers boarded 747's to Mississippi Monday for more training, then off to Iraq for one year.
Jacob Frazier, a private says "I'm ready, I'm ready to kick it, let’s go I'm ready to go do some good stuff."
Juan Garibaldi, a specialist, says "I'm excited, cant wait to get this done and over with so I can come back home with everybody."
The main job for the 116th will be back up security for the Iraqi troops for one year, and for the most part guardsmen are o.k. with the deployment.
Erwin Cordova, private 1st class says "not to bad to tell you the truth cause like I said, I think we're doing a great thing over there."
Private Frazier says "I actually can’t wait to get over there you know, its gonna be a good learning experience."
For most of the guardsmen we spoke to this will be there first deployment, for others and their families like mother Karen Egersdorf this is nothing new.
"I have a son that's a sergeant... This is my 4th time having him go over there so its nothing new but the worry is still there and you just learn to deal with it."
