Magic Valley Fire Update

Six separate fire agencies managed to quench a 500 acre fire near Gooding Tuesday.

Early Tuesday afternoon - a structure fire was reported at 1937 wood river road.

A shed owned by a local contractor was burned - but Assistant Fire Chief Ron Reed of Gooding County says there's no estimate of damages yet.

The Bureau of Land Management made several aerial drops on the fire.
Fire fighting agencies from Bliss - Hagerman - Shoshone - and Wendell also helped battle the blaze - which was finally contained by midnight last night.

The Bureau of Land Management also managed to contain a fire that started near the Gooding gun club at 3pm yesterday afternoon.
The blaze is the 36th human caused fire in South Central Idaho during this fire season.

The 350 acre gun club fire was contained about 10am Wednesday morning and is expected to be completely out by 6pm Thursday
.
The BLM says to remember not to park or drive over dry grass and brush - along with keeping your spark arrestors in good condition.
Additionally, put any cigarette butts in an ashtray or garbage can - and make sure your campfire is dead out.

The BLM also responded to a small blaze near Eden Wednesday. According to Fire Information Officer Sky Buffat, local crews responded to the 80 acre blaze and the BLM assisted with aerial support.
