Possible Sun Valley Homicide
Approximately 11pm on Friday the Sun Valley Police received a phone call about a report of a physical altercation at the sun valley resort employee dorm.
According to police — the altercation was between 19–year old Corey Drehmel and 49–year old Jerome James – both employees of the Sun Valley Company.
Mike Crawford, assistant police chief says "An officer arrived the door was closed to room number 6. Security asked to open the door. The officer was able to observe an individual lying on the floor and a man standing next to him. Asked the individual standing to exit the room, then secured him and then began CPR on the man that was on the floor."
Police say the man on the floor was Jerome James and did not have a pulse – was not breathing – his eyes were dilated and had blood coming from his nose and mouth.
Crawford says that at first the suspect was not cooperative.
"He did not want to give us his name, was not very cooperative on following instructions and we did detain him, place him in handcuffs and for our safety and his while CPR was in progress."
THERE WERE NO WEAPONS FOUND IN THE ROOM ACCORDING TO CRAWFORD AND SEVERAL AGENCIES HELPED IN THE INVESTIGATION.
"Four detectives from ISP came out to help us process the crime scene. We had help from the county sheriff's office; Ketchum Police once again were helpful in assisting.
Corey Drehmel was charged with aggravated battery and he will be arraigned Monday –.
The homicide investigation is ongoing and an autopsy is scheduled for 9 am.
