William Arthur Stevens sentenced for lewd acts with minor


With a tearful apology to those he hurt in his actions William Arthur Stevens said his life was out of control at the time of the incident last September in Rock Creek Park.
Stevens was charged with 2 counts of sexual abuse of a child under the age of 16 and 4 counts of lewd conduct with a child under the age of 16. For having a sexual encounter with a young teen. All but one of the charges was dropped when Stevens plead guilty to one count of Lewd Conduct with a child under the age of 16.
Stevens is a noted humanitarian and is credited with going on numerous church missions to Africa, California, and Louisiana. A good Student all through out his school years up into college. But last September Stevens made the wrong choice. Stevens had a long friendship with the victim and his family, which Judge Stoker believed Stevens took advantage of. Stoker followed the recommendation of the prosecution and placed Stevens on a rider program with 6 years to 12 years maximum. He will also have to pay whatever counseling the victim will need in the future.
