Lawyers seeking post conviction relief of Nicole Lea Baker were in court Monday. Baker is currently serving a 12 to life sentence in prison for the death of Jesse Aaron Coats; and her case for relief came to an end.

Judge Richard Bevan went through about a dozen issues listed as to why Nicole Lea Baker should be given post conviction relief and ruled from the bench on why they would be dismissed.

Prosecutor Grant Loebs had filed for summary dismissal of the dozen or so issues.

One makes the claim that Baker was cohearsed into making a guilty plea, another issues had to do with Baker claiming she had gone missing, but Loebs said there was no evidence of a missing persons report filed.

The majority of the claims made by Baker were easily discredited by court records as Prosecutor Loebs pointed out and in the judges ruling was able to make note of. Such as, her claim that a pre-trial investigation was not done, according to Judge Bevan it is noted in the record that a pre-trial investigator had been hired.

There is one issue that Bevan will wait to rule on as he waits for a transcript.
