Registered sex offender faces more criminal charges

A registered sex offender faces four counts of sexual abuse of a vulnerable adult. Court records show that David Aaron Knutsen, 28, of filer, allegedly sexually abused a 22 year old woman who was considered a vulnerable adult at the end of January.
The charges allegedly stem from an incident during his stay at Canyon View Hospital in Twin Falls.
Thursday, defense attorney Michael Wood argued that the grand jury which indicted Knutsen did so two weeks after the deadline set for it.
Wood also said the chief prosecutor told the grand jury that sexual consent was not part of the defense, and that testimony by the victim's stepmother was hearsay, instead of expert opinion.
Fifth District Judge Richard Bevan took the motions under advisement, and said he would issue a written decision on them soon.
Knutsen's trial is still set to begin at 9am January 26th.
