It’s a time to gather with friends and family and enjoy NFL's championship game.
Whether you like the commercials or the competition, the super bowl has provided those opportunities for 44 years.
Today at the oasis, while patrons were playing Texas Hold 'em we asked what were their Super Bowl picks.
Mitch Smith, is rooting for the Saints "I'm a Cowboys fan, but I hate Peyton Manning."
Luke Martin works for a local distributing company and was doing promotions at local businesses.
he said that this year was a little slower than anticipated.
"The economy you know, definitely that's why the numbers are down. The Super Bowl has always been a time to celebrate at the house. But it's nice to support our local businesses."
It wasn't just bars and restaurants that showed the championship game.
First Church of the Nazarene on Eastland provided two big screens, food and a devotional message.
Steve Myers, Epic Worship pastor says "We have a 6 p.m. service, we opt rather than fight the Super Bowl, use it for the opportunity to share the Love of Christ."
