Public Meeting Needed to Fire Shoshone Fire ChiefShoshone
03/15/10 MultimediaThis week there's a meeting to discuss the Shoshone City and Rural Fire Department's Chief. KMVT spoke with fire commissioner Ellis Gooch, who says, it has to do with the employment of Steve Stock, the fire chief. According to Commissioner Gooch, the first meeting was illegal and hadn't been open to the public; an open meeting is set for Tuesday at 7pm. The fire chief is on a leave of absence in the meantime. As a result commissioner Gooch says 6 firefighters either resigned or took a leave of absence. Gooch says, Search and Rescue is filling in, and the communities of Richfield and Dietrich would assist in an emergency. Again the meeting to discuss the fire chief's employment is this Tuesday at 7pm, for more information you can check at the Lincoln County Courthouse. |
