Rupert man charged with siphoning funds from several organizations
Rupert, Idaho - The director of the Minidoka County Community Development Organization was arraigned in Minidoka County Magistrate Court Wednesday; Paul Aston, 57, is being charged with felony grand theft.
Court records show that from February of 2005 through September of 2008 Aston allegedly stole more than $4500 from Minidoka County, the Idaho Association Of Building Officials and the Idaho High Desert Chapter.
Magistrate Judge Larry Duff disqualified himself from the case this morning and Casey Robinson will be assigned to further proceedings.
Aston's preliminary hearing is set for June 18th at 10 am; he faces a maximum of one to 14 years in prison and a fine of up to five thousand dollars.
