Prano takes Alford Plea in attempted murder case

Burley, Idaho - A Mini-Cassia area resident has entered a change of plea; 45-year old David Prano was originally scheduled to go on trial Monday, in Cassia County, for attempted murder and 5 other charges.

Instead, Prano entered what's known as an 'Alford Plea,' to assault with intent to commit a serious felony and unlawful discharge of a firearm; in turn the remaining charges against him will be dismissed.

With an 'Alford Plea' Prano doesn't admit to being guilty, but does acknowledge there likely is sufficient evidence against him to have resulted in a conviction.

Prano was arrested last June after a robbery and shooting incident near Delco; he's now scheduled to be sentenced on August 17th.
