This weekend marks the 15th year in a row that Boy Scouts from Twin Falls test out their winter survival skills up at Diamondfield Jacks.

Beginning Friday night, the Boy Scouts spent the night braving the harsh winter weather, along with testing their camping skills.

The boys spent all morning and afternoon participating in the Klondike Derby, which is a series of classes and competitions designed to test the boys’ winter survival knowledge.

Along with learning about search and rescue, the boys took classes in learning how to start a fire, to tie different knots, and also learn quite a bit of first aide know how.

Even a few troops built their own winter shelters - made completely out of snow.
