Girders going up on Rock Creek Bridge; motorists to avoid Harrison/Filer intersection

By KMVT News Staff

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT) - Work on the new Rock Creek Bridge continued Monday, as crews worked to get the first steel girder up and secured to the pillars supporting it.

When all the girders are in place, the crews will begin to build the roadway that will rest on top of the girders, creating the new pole Line roadway.

All this work was supposed to take place last Monday, but due to windy weather the project was moved to Monday, and the crew couldn't be happier with how the weather turned out.

Meanwhile, motorists are being encouraged to avoid the intersection of Filer Avenue and Harrison Street.

The intersection will be closed through the remainder of the week due to construction on a water line.

Harrison Street between Filer and Falls Avenue is closed to all except any local traffic, with one lane open to northbound traffic only.
