Granary fire destroys tower near Fairfield
Fairfield, Idaho (KMVT) - Fairfield fire crews spent nearly 8 hours Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning containing a granary fire east of the town.
According to the city fire chief, they're not sure what may have caused the fire; the main concern protecting homes from flames that started moving towards homes.
The blaze started around 7:30 Tuesday night and wasn't put out until 2am Wednesday morning.
The grain tower was completely destroyed; but the silos were left unharmed.
All of the Fairfield Fire Department was on scene, as well as the West Side Magic Fire Department, BLM and Forest Service.
No estimate yet on the cost of damage.
