Corn field pot bust nets nearly $4.5 Million in plants in Jerome County

Jerome, Idaho (KMVT) - There was a substantial marijuana bust near the Jerome and Gooding county line Wednesday.
Just under 2500 plants were found a couple hundred yards inside a corn field. Estimated worth of the crops is about $4.5 million; officials in Jerome County got a tip from a private citizen.
Over a dozen Jerome County sheriff’s deputies worked to remove all of the plants from the field.
Officials believe that there many be more marijuana grows in the surrounding fields around this current bust.
Jack Johnson with the Jerome County Sheriff's Department indicated that the owner of the field had no knowledge of the operation, and the sheriff department did say that they have a few leads in the case.
