Resale dresses popular for those on a budget looking for prom/wedding dresses

(TWIN FALLS, ID) - KMVT-TV Prom season is upon us. All this month, high schoolers will be dressing up for the special event. But, how do you find a dress on a tight budget?

Last month, Formalicity in Twin Falls opened their doors. The store offers resale dress at lower prices. And of course, there are more than just prom dresses.

With 450 dresses to pick from, Jacey Blauer is shopping for "the one." The 21-year-old ISU student is getting married in June, which means the clock is ticking.

"If you can save money on a wedding dress, you can put it to other places like food or decorations. It's good because if you're on a budget, you can still get beautiful dresses here,” said Blauer.
All kinds of formal dresses, including ones for prom or a wedding. The owner of Formalicity says most of the dresses have only been worn once, and now, someone else can do the same on their special night.

"It's the economic situation we're in. Girls can't always buy brand new and need a re-sale dress,” said Formalicity owner Diane Bevan.

The choices are always changing since new dresses are brought in every day. The way it works is once those dresses are sold, you get paid for half.

Check out the big trend for this year: two dresses in one.

"The trend in the area will always be more modest, but the girls love bling and big ballgowns," said Bevan.

For Blauer, with her wedding fast approaching, she's got a lot on her plate. But at least, spending a lot of money on her dress won't be an issue.
