By Benito Baeza

TWIN FALLS, ID (KMVT-TV) Twin Falls County started boat inspections this weekend.

The boat checkpoint is located about three miles north of the Nevada boarder on Highway 93.

The county and Idaho State Department of Agriculture is doing this to keep zebra mussels from invading Idaho waters.

Any watercraft coming up from Nevada is required to stop and get inspected.

The mussels can clog water lines, boat engines and cause a number of other problems.

The checkpoint will operate throughout the summer everyday of the week.
