With the national economic forecast looking grim - families are trying to stretch their dollar and be frugal with finances.
And a local manufacturing plant is no exception.
More than three and a half years ago - Jayco opened its doors at this building at 621 Washington street south in Twin Falls.
In the spring of last year - Jayco opened its second plant on Hankins road.
Effective today - Jayco temporarily closed its Washington street operation.
Melinda Anderson says, "What we do know is they have a lease with the city of twin falls urban renewal agency, and they will continue to make their payments on that lease."
Local Jayco General Manager Akos Sefcsik says with two plants open - the company had two assembly lines producing seven or eight recreational vehicle trailers a day.
He says by creating a super long production line at the Hankins road plant - Jayco can now build up to 20 trailers a day.
Anderson says, "I understand that they hadn't planned any layoffs from the move, so they still plan on having their same workforce."
In august - Jayco had a total of 216 employees.
Sefcsik says as a result of merging the two plants - only seven jobs were eliminated.
Those were 'indirect support' positions like quality auditors and materials management.
And he says when it's profitable to operate two separate plants - they'll be using the Washington Street building again.
Anderson says, "Jayco has no intention of abandoning the building or getting out of the lease. The intention was to always continue with the lease, because they do expect to be back in it again."
