UPDATE: Inmates Escaped From Power County Jail have been captured

Two inmates escaped this weekend from the Power County Jail in American Falls; one was caught Sunday night and the other this morning.

According to officials, Rodolfo Ortega, 22, and Gilberto Delgado, 37, also known as 'Hippie', escaped around 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Officials say they escaped after knocking the guard out and taking her keys.

Police caught Ortega this evening in American Falls.

According to power county officials Gilberto Delgado, was arrested around 11am this morning in Chubbuck.

Records show in the past, Delgado was charged with rape which was amended to felony injury to child and sentenced for that crime; he was also charged with grand theft that was amended to petit theft and sentenced for that, escape and currently faces charges for resisting officers.

Two inmates escaped this morning from the Power County Jail in American Falls. One was caught and one is still on the loose.

According to officials, Rodolfo Ortega, 22, and Gilberto Delgado, 37, also known as 'hippie', escaped around 9:30 a.m. Officials say they escaped after knocking the guard out and taking her keys. Police caught Ortega this evening in American Falls.

They are still on the look-out for Gilberto Delgado, who is six feet tall, weighing 200 pounds, muscular build, has black hair and brown eyes and last seen wearing Levi’s and a black long sleeve shirt.

Records show in the past, Delgado was charged with rape which was amended to felony injury to child and sentenced for that crime, he was also was charged with grand theft, but that was amended to petit theft and was sentenced for that, escape and currently faces charges for resisting officers.

He is known for resisting and obstructing officers, eluding, carrying weapons, inflicting corporal injury and violent tendencies.
