The newest hospital in the Magic Valley opened its doors today to the public; hundreds of people celebrated the completion of North Canyon Medical Center, in Gooding, with a ribbon cutting ceremony, and tour.

The hospital took three years to complete; and it cost about $28 million to build. Officials say that Friday’s event was a way to celebrate all the work that's been put into the project.

North Canyon Medical Center CEO Earl Fitzpatrick said, "It's so exciting! It's a very exciting day today to see all this - these community members who have participated, helped in some fashion. Everyone here has participated in some fashion to make this happen."

Tours will be going on again Saturday, from 10 in the morning, until 6 o'clock; the doors will officially open for business on March 2nd.
