Against the odds, locals make New Year resolutions
Saturday is the first day of the new year, and that means it's time to make a resolution. And for many of us, that resolution is to become more healthy, by working out, eating better, or losing weight.
The new year resolution is a commitment someone makes to a personal goal, project, or the reforming of a habit. It's also generally a goal someone sets out to accomplish in the coming year.
Some popular goals include improving your finances, improving your career, improving your education or improving yourself.
But, do people stick with it?
Recent research shows that while 52% of participants in a resolution study were confident of success with their goals, only 12% actually achieved their goals.
