Twin Falls Citizen Finance, Planning Commission looks over projects
The Twin Falls Citizen Finance and Planning Commission got to sink their teeth into their first three major public works projects Thursday.
City Public Works Director Jon Caton gave an overview of projects that could total as much as $22 million. He says that several pieces of equipment at the waste water treatment plant seriously need to be replaced, because they're wearing out.
Assistant City Manager Travis Rothweiler said, “It includes improvements at the wastewater treatment plant, they include improvements possibly to Eastland, and they include improvements possibly to the Harrison reservoir.”
The Harrison Reservoir at the corner of Falls Avenue and Harrison Street North is 44 years old, and a local engineer says in the long run, it needs to be replaced.
Caton says there are also parts of Eastland drive that need to be completely rebuilt, because they weren't reconstructed when those areas were developed.
