Christy Davies Talks Team in Training
Christy is a current member of Team in Training.
The group raises money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through endurance events.
She's training for the Boise City of Trees half-marathon coming up on October 9th.
Christy says she's dedicating her race to 10–year old Ellie Pruitt who has t–cell lymphoblastoma.
Christy became familiar with Team in Training through her cousin in Texas that joined a few years ago. TNT is a group that trains for endurance races to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for much needed research in finding a cure for cancer. This group is a nationwide group that is very active. There is no Magic Valley team and Christy thus far has trained on her own through the FLEX program with a virtual coach and support from the Boise team. Having a team in the Magic Valley is very possible though, and watch for an informational meeting soon about how to get involved. Many cancer victims have hope because of the important work that TNT is doing including Christy’s aunt and her new friend Ellie Pruitt. Christy is not an athlete by any means, but feels that this cause is important enough to do something that is a little crazy and endure a little strain and pain to promote the cause. This is also where you may learn more about Team in Training and follow Christy on her journey for 13.1 miles to find a cure! In addition to her training, Christy is a wife of 15 years to her husband Bob and mother to 9 year old daughter Rose. They live in Buhl and are all very active in the community. Christy is a member of the After Hours Rotary and volunteers for many other Civic groups and a Accounts Receivable Consultant for Optio Solutions, LLC.
