Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Most of the viewing area is under a red flag warning as storms are expected this afternoon and evening.

We do not expect much rain with these storms but frequent lighting and gusty winds of up to 50 mph are very possible.

Blowing dust will also be a result of these storms.

Meteorologist Nick Kosir says, "Mid level moisture and instability associated with a closed low pressure system off the coast of California will increase the threat of thunderstorms later today. The storms should diminish by around 11 p.m."

These storms are expected to create new fire starts and spread ongoing fires.

Breezy conditions tomorrow and low humidity will also create critical wildfire conditions tomorrow.

Keep checking in on-air and online for updates throughout the day.
