TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT-TV) - Saturday marked the annual 'Service Club Saturday.'

More than ten area non-profit organizations across the Magic Valley spent the day manning the red kettles in a competition to see who can bring in the most donations for the Salvation Army.

Last year, area service clubs brought in more than $9,000 in donations on 'Service Club Saturday.'

The Salvation Army hasn't counted up this year's totals yet, but coordinator Nicki Kroese says the Lions Club is the reigning champion.
Other groups that participated in the event were members of the Rotary, Kiwanis, Optimist Club and many more.

The service club who raises the most money will get their name engraved on a trophy. The annual event is a tradition dating back to the 1960's.
